The Department of Sports Medicine and the Center for Sports Medicine and Exercise Therapy present with great pleasure an interview with the best basketball player of the Serbian Basketball Team, Sonja Vasić, which was published in the August issue of the Sports Medical Journal of Aspetar Clinic in Doha, Qatar – Aspetar Journal.
The interview with the magnificent Sonja Vasić was prepared and edited by Dr. Lana Krzman, a specialist in Sports Medicine and a longtime member of the Center for Sports Medicine and Exercise Therapy. For many years, Dr. Krzman, as a doctor, has been cooperating with several basketball clubs in our country, which directed the course of her career towards enrolling in Master Academic Studies – Physical activity, health, and exercise therapy at the Medical Faculty in Belgrade. By enrolling in Master studies, Dr. Krzman has become a permanent member of our Center, but also a scholarship holder of prof. Dr. Nebojsa Popovic, Visiting Professor of the Medical Faculty in Belgrade, is a prominent orthopedist and holder of a gold medal from the Olympic Games in Munich (1972). Under this scholarship, Dr. Krzman has obtained a diploma from the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in the field of Sports Medicine, which opened the door to cooperation with numerous world experts in the field of Sports Medicine and elite athletes. A great love for sports, Sports Medicine, and basketball inspired Dr. Krzman to look back with a wonderful text on the long career of basketball player Sonja Vasić, during which she played in Europe and the United States, and which had its crowning end at just concluded Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
